When the left optic tract and/or the left (occipital lobe of the) cerebral cortex is damaged, right hemianoposia, namely loss in the right side of the right eye and in the right side of the left eye, takes place.

The fibers composing the left optic tract are fibers from the outer half of the left eye retina, for which the visual field is the right (inner) half of the left eye, as well as fibers from the inner half of the right eye retina, for which the visual field is the right (outer) half of the right eye.
