When the right optic tract and/or the right (occipital lobe of the) cerebral cortex is damaged, left hemianoposia, namely loss in the left side of the right eye and in the left side of the left eye, takes place.

The fibers composing the right optic tract are fibers from the outer half of the right eye retina, for which the visual field is the left (inner) half of the right eye, as well as fibers from the inner half of the left eye retina, for which the visual field is the left (outer) half of the left eye.
