To obtain energy, cells take in nurtrients from outside. There is a large amount of energy in the nutrient. The energy is chemical energy, shown in red lines, which connect the atoms, such as carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen in the nutrient into one molecule. When a nutrient enters a cell, shown in green arrow, chemical energy of nutirient also enter the cell, as shown in red arrow.

Please be noted that the nutrients shown above, are not carbohydrate nor lipid. This has many carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and is a fictional nutrient which can be equally divided into two.
