With sweating, the (blue→red) negative feedback facilitates (the synthesis, secretion, and blood concentration of) vasopressin (anti-diuretic hormone, ADH) |
① With sweating, plasma osmolarity increases. This is in the opposite direction (blue) to the plasma osmolarity-decreasing effect of the reabsorption (through the water channels, which are increased by vasopressin, ADH).
② With sweating, (blue→red) negative feedback facilitates (the synthesis, secretion, and blood concentration of) vasopressin (anti-diuretic hormone, ADH). This increases the number of water channels and the reabsorption of water. The plasma osmolarity-decreasing effect of the reabsorption increases, and the plasma osmolarity becomes adequate.
Challenge Quiz
Sweating increases decreases plasma osmolarity, and reabsorption (through the water channels, which are increased by vasopressin, ADH) increases decreases plasma osmolarity. Since these effects are in the same direction opposite directions , with sweating, negative feedback facilitates inhibits (the synthesis, secretion, and blood concentration of) vasopressin (anti-diuretic hormone, ADH).
