１．When an image goes through the lens (of an eye, just as with the lens in the camera), the image is projected to the other side of the center. So, the images on the outer side of the visual field for either eye (the cylinders), is projected to the inner half of the retina, and the image on the inner side of the visual field for either eye (the standing box) is projected to the outer half of the retina.

２．視神経は上図のように視交叉で半分の線維が交叉している．交叉する線維は網膜の鼻側半分にあった神経節細胞からの線維である．網膜の耳側半分からの線維は交叉せずに同側の大脳皮質へいたる．
