Consciousness and memorization are also functions of the brain

We are hardly conscious of, even the existence of, the organs other than the brain, unless it is overloaded or ill.

The nervous system handles the consciousness itself, thus directly controls daily activity, sensation and thinking. Memory is also the function of the nervous system.

In a sense, the nervous system, especially the brain is "ourselves". The other organs can be implanted, for us to continue on to be ourselves. But, if (it was technically possible and) the brain was implanted, we will no longer be ourselves.
