The functions of the nervous system in the human body include:

listening to wonderful music
raising your hand (intending to do so)
sweating (when your body temperature raises)
knee extending (when being tapped)
pupil shrinking (when light enters your eye)
waking up (when morning comes)
working hard (without being told to do so)
"hmmm...." (understanding the content of a book)
High level abilities in humans (thinking, creating, judging, memorizing) and basic functions in humans and animals (emotions, desire, instinct, control of the consciousness level including sleep, control of internal environment, blood pressure, respiration, and organs needed to maintain life, the motor system that moves the arms and legs, the sensory system that notifies the changes in external and internal environments) are all functions of the nervous system.
