Please be noted that the actual degradation are not simply the break down of connection, but with the insert of H and OH, it will be separated similar to -CH₂-CH₂-は-CH₃と-CH₂OH. Despte the fact that a degradation product, shown above, does not actually exist, this illustration is shown just to describe the essential point of energy metabolism.
