The receptors convert stimuli, such as light, into electric signal (action potentials).
For example the (retina of the) eye is a receptor. When light enters the eye, electric signal (action potentials) is generated in the nerve from the eye (optic nerve).
Challenge Quiz
1.
Receptors generate electric signal (action potentials) when stimulated change activity by the electric signal (action potentials) it receives .
2.
Electric signals (action potentials) are generated when receptors effectors are stimulated.
