深部覚・触圧覚の伝導路では，後根から脊髄に入ると，シナプスを形成せずに，第１次感覚神経線維が後索を延髄まで上行します．この上行路を後索路とよびます．延髄で第２次感覚神経細胞体にシナプスを形成し，第２次感覚神経線維が延髄で左右の正中線を交叉します．
