Through the outer ear and middle ear structures, the auditory wave (air vibration) vibrates the oval (vestibular) window. The process is called the conductive function. In the inner ear, the vibration of the oval (vestibular) window is converted into action potentials by the cochlea. The process is called the sensorineural function.
