When room temperature is low, negative feedback facilitates heater (function).

① Let's say, winter came. Room temperature becomes low due to the winter coldness. A Heater raises room temperature. These are in the oposite direction (blue).

② Since these are in the opposite direction, negative feedback facilitate (red) the heater (function, such as by turning the power on). Because of this, the room temperature-raising effect of the heater strengthen, and the lowering in room temperature (blue downward unfilled arrow) fades away (low room temperature raises to the original room temperature).

This simply says, when the room temperature is low (during winter), heaters are used.
