Let's apply the basics to the inner visual field of the left eye.  Because of the lens, the images in the inner half of the left eye (yellow side of the standing box) is projected to the outer half of the left eye retina and action potentials are generated.  Also, as the fibers from the outer half of the retina do not cross the right-left midline, the image signals reach the left cerebral cortex via the left optic tract.

Challenge Quiz

1.

The image in the inner half of the left eye is projected to the inner.outer half of the left eye retina. The fibers carrying the generated signals do.do not cross the right-left midline, and the image signals reach the left. right cerebral cortex.

2.

The images in the inner half of the left eye reach the left. right cerebral cortex.
