Movement of the action potential within a neuron is called conduction. Movement from a neuron to a different neuron is called transmission.
When an action potential, generated in a certain neuron, moves within that neuron, the movement is called 'conduction'. When the action potential moves to the end of the fiber and another action potential is generated in another neuron, the movement is called 'transmission'.
